Golden visa SPAIN
A golden visa is suitable for people who have purchased a property worth at least €500,000 in Spain (€1,000,000 for joint applicants).
Even though it shares many similarities with the non-lucrative visa or NLV, it features many advantages over the former
- Its initial validity is of 2 years instead of one
- It allows for working in Spain immediately after obtaining the visa
- It is not subject to any minimum stay requirements as long as you visit Spain at least once per year
- It allows you to move freely throughout the Schengen area
- Relatives can apply at the same time as the main applicant
- The processing time is faster than for the non-lucrative visa
The requirements are similar to other visas, these being:
- Proof of income or savings (currently set at £25,000 per person per year)
- Lack of a criminal record
- A health insurance policy that operates in Spain
- A certificate of good health issued by your GP or a different medical practitioner in the UK
- As with other residence visas, the Golden Visa can be renewed after its expiry for a 5-year period, the only requirement being that you must continue to own the property you used to apply (or a different property also worth over €500,000).
