Spanish visa service: FAQs

It doesn’t matter what stage of the application process you are in. Whether you only need to translate one document to complete your visa application or you need us to prepare everything from start to finish, we are here to help!

The process to obtain most visa types takes approximately six weeks. We advise you not to book any travel until you have secured your visa.

Payment takes place in two phases. Your first invoice will consist of a deposit to cover our costs to obtain your documents. The second will be settled once your visa application pack is complete. However, feel free to contact us if you need to make alternate arrangements and we’ll try to be as flexible as we possibly can.

Since Brexit, UK citizens no longer enjoy the right of free movement within the EU and, therefore, require a non-lucrative visa, an employment visa, a golden visa or any other residence visa in order to live in Spain. This is where our service comes in. We can prepare your application and documentation and do everything on your behalf so you can prepare for your life in the sun!

The Spanish government recently revised their policy relating to non-lucrative visa holders. Whilst in the past, people would be allowed to work remotely for a UK employer, this is no longer allowed under Spanish tax and immigration laws. Therefore, non-lucrative visa holders are unable to work and must rely on savings or passive income (such as pensions, rent, etc.). If you would like to work whilst in Spain, the best option for you may be to try to quality for a Golden Visa instead of a non-lucrative visa. Please contact us for more information so we can discuss your needs.

For non-lucrative visas (NLVs), you need to prove that you are able to fund your retirement without relying on public funds. The general guidelines establish  a minimum income requirement of about £2200 per month. However, it is still possible to obtain a non-lucrative visa (NLV) if you intend to rely on savings, a rental property or other passive income. Please contact us to discuss your options.

In general terms, Golden Visas are intended for the owners of luxury properties worth at least €500,000. These visas have to be renewed less frequently and do allow you to work in Spain. However, if you don’t meet the requirements for a Golden Visa, you can still apply for a non-lucrative visa or NLV, which requires a much smaller financial commitment.
